Architecture in the capital
Montevideo is beautifully located on the wide Rio de la Plata that separates Uruguay from Argentina. The center of the Uruguayan capital houses several buildings with Spanish, Italian and Art Deco influences. The interesting museums and colonial churches are well worth a visit. It is wonderful to stroll along the promenade where you can see the daily life pass by. Also visit the Feria de Tristán Narvaja, the city's best-known flea market.
