At our destinations we only work with agencies that have included responsible tourism in their programs; the local economy is boosted and our partners are raising awareness of the need for conservation and protection. Together with the local population, they are committed to initiatives aimed at environmental education and minimizing environmental impact.
We select accommodations that provide education and employment to the local population, use solar energy and treat wastewater before going back into the river.
Excursions are always carefully chosen and with respect for people and animals. For example, contact with the local population will always take place by mutual consent and wild animals are left alone as much as possible and only spotted in their natural environment and from a distance.
We prefer to use airlines with a modern fleet and good care for the environment. A good example of this is KLM, which – in addition to the use of sustainable bio-kerosene – offers travelers the option of compensating the CO2 emissions of the flight via the CO2ZERO service. In addition, KLM contributes to local development at its destinations worldwide through its charity that provides education, a safe home and medical care to children all over the world.
We join forces under the leadership of MVO Nederland to reduce plastic pollution at holiday destinations worldwide and to contribute to a circular economy. For this we signed the International Tourism Plastic Pledge.
