In August 2025, these travelers took an unforgettable tour of Rwanda and Uganda starting in Kigali and then staying in the beautiful natural parks Volcanoes National Park Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, the Ishasha Sector, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Kibale Forest National Park and finally Murchisson Falls National Park.

Hello Michal,

Herewith somewhat late our findings of a very successful trip to Rwanda and Uganda.

The guidance by the local agent was very professional, the guide and driver (Innocent) got us everywhere safely, he was a good guide during the safaris and a reliable 'mediator and interpreter'. Our guide also 'knew' someone everywhere so everything went smoothly every time. Thanks to his good connections, we were also allowed to go off the prescribed lane briefly during a safari to get closer to the lions.

Canoeing with birdwatching turned out to be a very fun activity and we saw quite a lot of birds. The Batwa Trail experience: interesting and pleasant way to support the local people. Gorilla Tracking: since the gorillas moved all morning, we did this too. But you will be rewarded for it. It was an unforgettable and well guided experience. The safaris in Queen Elizabeth National Park were very good, we saw a lot and took beautiful pictures. Bigodi Swamp Trail: fun and interesting part in the village. Tracking the birds in the swamp area was a little less. They are hard to see. Boat tours are the best opportunities to spot birds in my opinion.

Chimpanzee habituation: This was quite an effort because the(them) chimps are quite mobile. Also kind of exciting when an alpha male comes running right by. An unforgettable experience.

Safaris in Murchisson Falls National Park: Beautiful and we saw tree climbing lions. The boat trips were also impressive, both to the falls and also as a highlight we saw the huge Shoebilled Stork.

Zhiwa Rhino Sanctuary: very special experience to get so close to these animals. Glad we did this but busy in terms of visitors

The conclusion: a very beautiful trip in two very beautiful countries. The presence of mountains, rainforest, savanna, lakes and rivers makes for very diverse experiences in Uganda. I think we did get as much out of it as possible on the limited time. East Africa is easily accessible thanks to direct flights from Belgium.

Gorilla and chimpanzee tracking (no habituation) should not be skipped while you are there. Lions and elephants and other wildlife you can watch endlessly. The missed hike on the volcano we must make up for someday.

Thank you for organizing this trip for us!
