In May and June 2026, Geert and Els traveled to Zambia for a two-week adventure during which they stayed in Kafue, South Luangwa, and North Luangwa National Parks, ending their trip in Lusaka.

Hello Michal,

We’ve been back home for a week now after an unforgettable experience in Zambia. Everything went smoothly. Musesekse Camp in Kafue was a well-organized tented camp with a very family-like atmosphere. The lodge in South Luangwa that you suggested as an alternative was absolutely superb. It was a very luxurious lodge, but also incredibly friendly, and we really felt a warm connection with the entire staff. The guide was exceptionally good and did everything he could to involve us as much as possible in discovering and spotting wildlife.

North Luangwa was absolutely beautiful, especially in terms of the surroundings and the sense of discovery. An unspoiled wilderness where the animals are still somewhat wary of cars and people, but an incredibly intense experience given the character and location of the tented camp. We were the first tourists of the season. Since we were still at the very beginning of the dry season, it was still difficult to spot wildlife, and the animals were still scattered throughout the national park. Perhaps a bit too early in the season. We think the months of August through October are better for guaranteed game drives, although the ambient temperature will, of course, be significantly higher than the daytime temperatures of around 26°C that we experienced.

Conclusion: We would do the trip all over again if we had the chance, though we’d go a little later in the dry season so we could fully immerse ourselves in the North Luangwa experience. We’re already looking forward to new experiences on our next adventure with UNTAMED!

Groutes,

Geert and Els
