Photogenic route to Cape Town
Your journey begins in Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, perhaps the most beautiful nature reserve in South Africa. Also on the program are Augrabies Falls and Namakwaland. Two more special nature reserves with endless opportunities for hiking and photography. In Cederbergen Wilderness Area there are still rock drawings of the original inhabitants of this area, the "bushmen. Here are beautiful hiking and driving trails throughout the area. After a stop at the cozy, picturesque fishing village of Paternoster and the wine region around Stellenbosch, you arrive in Cape Town.
Tips & Tops From Northern Cape to Cape Town
- In Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, you have great chances of spotting lots of wildlife and birds, such as the unusual Kalahari lion, cheetahs, brown hyenas and wild cats
- Early in the morning, you can observe many of the 250 bird species in Kgalagadi. Kgalagadi National Park is especially famous for its birds of prey. The most common are the snake eagle, bateleur, vulture, as well as several species of sparrow hawks and falcons
- Highly recommended is the !Xaus Lodge. Here you are in the middle of nature and all the wildlife can be seen directly from your chalet.
- Augrabies means "place of much noise. Especially at the end of summer, the waterfall lives up to its name when the river carries a lot of water and the sound is deafening

- In the months of September and October the flower fields are in bloom in Namakwaland, but certainly also in the other months it is a beautiful hiking area with many marked hiking trails in various levels
