A rich wildlife life
The Pantanal is the largest wetland in the world, a special nature reserve with a rich and varied wildlife. It is suspected that the Pantanal has the highest concentrated flora and fauna ecosystem in the world! The diversity is enormous; 3500 plant species, more than 650 bird species (including the endangered blue hyacinth parrot), 400 species of fish, about 100 species of mammals and 80 species of reptiles. There are a number of endangered species in the Pantanal, including jaguar, caiman, mane wolf, giant otter, capybara and lowland tapir.
Wild safaris in the Pantanal are regularly compared to those in Africa. A visit to this marshland should not be missed during your trip through Brazil!
