Good Day,
Returned from a very nice travel experience; Egypt. This had been on our bucket list for a long time and thanks to the advertising of the cruise ship
In Cairo we visited beautiful pyramids, viewed churches and had the opportunity to discover very fine El Fayoum Wadi El Rayan natural park with remains of whales that were 40 million years old. Our guide was formidable and a walking encyclopedia.
Then we were taken to our next hotel: Sofitel Old Cataract in Aswan. Wonderful stay! From here we took a domestic flight to Abu Simbel which was a perfect solution. Otherwise we would have had to drive seven hours by car, again the guide was fantastic. Then we were allowed to embark on the Oberoi Zahra Nilecruise where we were lucky to be on board with only 16 guests (instead of 52 guests): what a luxury. What a beautiful ship with an incredibly friendly crew. Oberoi Zahra is really top notch and is also always docked alone without other ships sticking to it. So both starboard and port staterooms have beautiful views every time. The meals are exceptionally good and tasty and whatever you ask for is taken care of! Blissful experience! All trips on Oberoi Zahra were private with our guide Mina and a very nice English couple. There were four of us and our guide Mina in our very well maintained Toyota bus. Here I really want to give a compliment to Mina: what a great lady who can tell very accurate and clearly professional stories but also shared with us a laugh and a tear. Mina: we love you! Beautiful temple complexes, museums and cemeteries: Valley of the Kings. We had plenty of time to visit and to relax on board. Observing life on the banks of the Nile from the sundeck is a never boring experience...
Then we discovered our next hotel in Luxor: Sofitel Winter Palace. It was a very cool experience because all the old ornaments, furniture etc. have been preserved and what a tranquility in the beautiful garden with swimming pool. Here we also got to experience a balloon ride: what a beautiful sunrise over Valley of the Kings and Temple of Hatsjetput from the air. Also the experience of 42 balloons in the sky at the same time was very special and well organized.
Overall conclusion: what a wonderful trip and thank you Untamed Travelling for figuring this out so flawlessly. You guys sensed exactly what we value: visiting interesting things, experiencing luxury and having a little adventure.
Egypt: so much more than just pyramids! Super thanks for the beautiful composition of this trip!
With best regards,
Diana and Koen
