Rock drawings of the Bushmen
The geology of the Cedar Mountains goes back 500million years. Sandstone and rock were carved by wind, water and sun into a jagged landscape. It became home to large herds of elephants, lions and the quagga - a special species of zebra that became extinct in the last century. All these animals can be found in the Bushmen's numerous petroglyphs. Some drawings are more than 10,000 years old. With the narrative explanations of a local guide, the history of the Cedar Mountains comes alive.
