Tips & tops from Group Trip Discover Namibia:

  • Head out early for a magical sunrise in Namib-Naukluft National Park, the area where Sossusvlei and Deadvlei are also located. Pastel colors turn into deep colors and hard lines once the sun gets a little higher. Climb the highest dunes and wander through the surreal Deadvlei
  • Optional balloon flight over Sossusvlei, for a sweeping panorama of the sand dunes
  • Swakopmund is a modern and charming city sandwiched between desert and sea. Explore the downtown area with galleries, stores and tea houses, and settle down at a restaurant for a culinary specialty featuring fish and seafood
  • During the excursion to Walvis Bay, you will take a trip by motorboat or kayak. You will observe seals, dolphins, pelicans, flamingos and many sea birds. With a little luck, you may even see whales, sea turtles and sunfish
  • See prehistoric petroglyphs at Twyfelfontein
  • Stay overnight in Damaraland among bizarre granite rock formations, and search for desert elephants and other wildlife
  • In Etosha National Park and Ongava Game Reserve, you will make several game drives (safari) in open vehicles with unobstructed views of the surroundings
  • Dine outdoors near a watering hole. The last diurnally active animals come to quench their thirst for a while, and then the first nocturnally active animals arrive
  • End the trip with a visit to AfriCat in Okonjima, where you will see leopards and cheetahs during a safari
  • Upon arrival in Windhoek, the group tour comes to an end, and you will be transferred to your hotel or the airport
  • If you are taking a private group trip, there are numerous options for expanding the trip. For example, consider a trip to Fish River Canyon, the Kalahari Desert, the Himbas and Khaudum National Park
