With green rolling hills, long beaches and many nature reserves, Saint Andrew a beautiful place in Barbados to relax for a while. It is also known as the 'Scotland District' because the British during the colonial years under Great Britain felt that the area closely resembled the landscape of Scotland. Climb the highest point of the island, Mount Hilaby , which towers 343 meters above sea level and offers epic views of the north and east of Barbados.

If you like nature, put on your walking shoes and visit one of the nature reserves. Spot turtles and vervet monkeys in Barbados Wildlife Reserve take miles of walks in the pristine Tuner's Hall Woods reserve. Visit Farley Hill National Park, the location for the infamous 1950s movie 'Island in the Sun'. Today it is used as a stage for musical and theatrical events such as Gospel Fest and Reggae on the Hill with the beautiful ruins of Farley Hill House as a backdrop. Culture buffs visit Morgan Lewis Windmill, the only intact sugar mill in Barbados where you can see how sugar cane was processed before the advent of electric power. From here, drive to the nearby hill that is said to defy the laws of gravity. Continue your journey on the Ermy Bourne Highway and look carefully for the shapes of 'the sleeping giant' in the hills, as the story goes, here lies a huge giant that sleeps, never to wake up again.
