UNESCO World Heritage Site
Cape Coast - the capital of the Central region and the Cape Coast Municipal District. Beautifully located on the Gulf of Guinea. The ideal opportunity to relax on the beach for a day. Near the city is the castle of Cape Coast, built in 1653 by the Swedes. From 1657 to 1664 it was different hands many times. The castle was successively conquered by the Danes, the Dutch, the Fanti (a local tribe), the Swedes and finally the British. There is currently an informative museum housed in the slave trade. The castle has been placed under the protection of UNESCO and is on the list of world heritage sites.
