Amazon rainforest in Guyana
The Iwokrama rainforest is a pristine wilderness. Iwokrama is home to a lot of wildlife and is one of the few places on earth where you can actually spot a jaguar or a cougar. An absolute must for the adventurous traveller! Iwokrama is homeland for the Makushi tribe. They play an important role in the protection of this area and often act as a guide. Bird lovers will certainly enjoy themselves, but at night the river is the site of no less than four species of caimans.
