From Rumshacks to Hidden Bays

Sophisticated restaurants, the very friendliest islanders and stunning landscapes framed by virgin powdery beaches make Barbados a world-class Caribbean lazy paradise. The western upper-class “Platinum Coast” on the sheltered side of the island is ideal for relaxing, snorkeling and catamaran sailing. The south coast is the most touristy because of its beautiful beaches, hidden coves and Oistins’ famous Fish Fry. No matter where you are on the island, you are always steps away from the vibrant, UNESCO World Heritage-listed capital Bridgetown. Enjoy stunning fine dining restaurants and visit one of the many rum shacks where the Bajans are happy to tell you stories about their “island of beauty. Where the world can’t find you…

Off the beaten track

Due to the awe-inspiring swell of the Atlantic Ocean on the rugged east coast, the area around Bathsheba, also called the “soup bowl,” is a mecca for the global surf elite. Hike over dramatic cliffs, along wild Atlantic beaches with tropical vegetation. The pristine and rugged north of the island, also called “the Scotland District,” is characterized by caves and secluded bays where you can spot graceful hawksbill turtles in the clear waters. Also be sure to visit Mount Gay Rum Distillery, one of the oldest rum factories in the world where traditional techniques are used to create a unique flavor. Leave the unparalleled coastline to explore the hidden gems inland. You will find sugarcane fields, forests, botanical gardens and wildlife reserves with armadillos, caimans, flamingos, Brocket deer and green monkeys.

Culinary Barbados

For foodies, Barbados is a paradise of unique flavors, with cuisine that reflects the island’s rich history. Bajan cuisine combines African and British influences, resulting in “cou-cou & flying fish,” the national dish of Barbados that every traveler must taste. Spectacular restaurants stunningly situated on cliffs above the sea or barefoot enjoyment at one of the beachfront restaurants, the choice of culinary options on the island is endless. You can enjoy local specialties in bijou cafes tucked away in shady shopping malls and at the famous food vans. Sample the traditional Puddin’ n’ Souse, the delicious Bajan Macaroni Pie, sweet plantains and, of course, fish fresh from the sea.

The passion for travel is in my genes and I knew early on that I wanted to make this my profession. I now have more than 30 years of experience in the travel industry and have had the opportunity to visit many beautiful destinations both inside and outside of Europe. And I enjoyed it everywhere! Still, I lost my heart to the Caribbean. That atmosphere and relaxed lifestyle, the love of good food, the vibe of the people, swinging, open and always up for a party! Thus, the ultimate destination is personal to everyone, from a mysterious dream come true in Marrakech and adventures in the land of fire and ice to a road trip through unknown Portugal. I am happy to use my accumulated knowledge and experience to make your dream trip a reality. Where the world can't find you...
