South Africa JOURNEYS

Safaris in wildlife parks

South Africa is home to such a great diversity of landscapes and sights that it is also referred to as 'South Africa, the world in one country'. The main attraction on your trip in South Africa is it Kruger Park , part of the transboundary Greater Limpopo Transfrontier Park (on the border with Zimbabwe and Mozambique). A visit to Kruger Park is often combined with the Panorama route along the third largest canyon in the world, the Blyde River Canyon. Also popular are the parks Hluhluwe-Umfolozi, the oldest in Africa, and the nearby Greater St. Lucia Wetland that is a World Heritage Site.

Cape Town and Garden Route

Cape Town and surroundings , with attractions such as Robben Island, Cape of Good Hope, the penguins of Boulders Beach and the 'Whale Capital' Hermanus, are also among the highlights. Just like the Wine and Garden Route with the Tsitsikamma National Park. Not to mention the majestic Cedar and Drakensberg Mountains, the lunar landscape of Augrabies , Cape Dutch architecture, the Karoo , one of the most inhospitable regions of South Africa and the small kingdoms of Swaziland and Lesotho. Add to that the excellent wines, culinary delights and the high service level of the accommodations and you will agree with us that South Africa is a top destination.

mr. and Mrs. Scholte

Dear ladies and gentlemen,   Coming home from a fantastic Africa trip I would like to give you my experience, as requested in your "welcome home" card. Mr. Paul de Haan of Kenya Airways has made us enthusiastic to make a South Africa trip and has put together the travel program for us in collaboration with your organization.   The chosen small-scale boutique hotels were a hit. The excellent rooms and good personal service made the stay very pleasant for us.   The h…

mr. Geurts & Mrs. nice

Good afternoon Team Untamed Travelling, Thank you for your welcome home card. We can indeed say that this trip has contributed to our 'memories for a lifetime experience' . We would like to thank you very much for that. 15 days South Africa; how cool you were, how beautiful you were, how impressive you were! We really enjoyed our trip, we did a lot but also saw a lot.    CAPE TOWN Once we arrived after a long flight, we were very kindly received by our driver. He dropped us of…

mr. Wiegand

Dear Trees, We would like to thank you for putting together the wonderful journey we were able to make last winter. A trip with really only highlights (including Paternoster, Springbok, Naries Namakwa Mountain Suites, Tutwa Desert Lodge and !Xaus lodge). We flew out of South Africa with great memories, of course many beautiful photos and with pain in our hearts. This certainly wasn't the last time! So thank you again for your efforts and to everyone at Untamed! Sincerely and until next ti…

mr. Uithol and Mrs. Domburg

Dear Griet Daneels, When we got home from our fantastic holiday in South Africa and Botswana we found your "welcome home" card with a request to leave a review. Here's a short report: In October 2016 we made an individual tour of South Africa and Botswana with Untamed Traveling (in the past we also had good experiences with them with a group tour of South Africa). From the reception on arrival at Johannesburg Airport, the entire organization ran smoothly and on time. A smooth transfer to the h…

Family Gremmen

It was Mathieu's dream to show the family a piece of South Africa. A dream come true. In mid-December 2014 the time had come. The first three days we were spoiled at Nkaya Game Lodge in the Kruger National Park, where we came up short during the game drives. Some animal species such as elephant and rhinoceros even showed their offspring. After all, it is summer there in December. After a very pleasant stay we said goodbye to everyone and took a domestic flight to Port Elizabeth to continue the…

Family Saelemaekers-Ruys

Dear Griet and Untamed team, Thank you for the nice card we found in the mail on arrival. More than a week after my return from Africa I am writing our report, hopefully it will be of some use to you. We are still in a daze, it was all that fantastic. It seemed much longer than the two weeks we were actually gone, so that's a good sign! The train journeys to Paris/CDG went well. The delay started at the airport just before boarding, when there were problems with some passengers (including a gr…

Jan and Tiny Frusch

Dear Joseph, Returned yesterday from another very nice trip in South Africa. We had a fantastic holiday, in beautiful accommodations. It was different from previous Africa trips, because besides safari there was a lot of room to do other things. But that was actually fun, and because of that we got to know a new, different part of South Africa. A little more detail: In Cape Town someone was waiting for us and took us neatly to Sea Five. Good that this transport was arranged. It was getting …

Mrs. C. Wiegand

Dear Untamed employees, By means of a nice map you have asked us to share our travel experiences of our trip to South Africa with you. I am happy to comply with this, on behalf of all four travelers. It was a fantastic trip. We are still very happy that we have reversed the proposed program from Johannesburg to Cape Town. It's good to start in a 'western' city like Cape Town if you get out of all the hustle and bustle here to end up with the real Africa and better (warmer and sunnier) weather.…

Petra and Tineke Domburg

Dear Griet Daneels, My sister and I had a wonderful holiday in South Africa. The organization was perfect. That gave extra peace of mind during the holidays. The lodges were great, food was fine and people were very hospitable and friendly. And beautiful that country, seen so many beautiful things. Nature, animals, people. Magnificent! We have 1 more tip. The stay in Hazyview was a bit too long for us. We couldn't find the village. Kind of a shopping center, but there wasn't much to do there. …

family k.

Hi Gret, With this email I would like to thank you very much for the wonderful trip you have put together for us and the fantastic accommodations. I was not the easiest customer with all the demands that were made, but nothing was too much to ask for you. Also the welcome at the airport in Joburg by your agent was great. The entire trip was worked out in detail with route descriptions and nice tips. We look back on a beautiful trip with beautiful memories and will certainly travel to Africa …

Maurice and Mirjam Van Valen

Yesterday we returned from a wonderful trip to South Africa and Mozambique and through this road we would like to thank you for the good organization. Everything went very well, the accommodations were beautiful and we really enjoyed all the impressions! And at three destinations (Pezulu Tree House, Rhino River Lodge and White Pearl Resort ) we were even put in the spotlight because we were on our honeymoon, a sign that the accommodations are certainly not mass destinations. We especially recomm…

First of all, the overall impression: everything was perfectly arranged. All contact persons were present at the time and place we expected them to be. Our experiences per address: Kings Walden (Tzaneen): lives up to the promise. A delightful address with exceptionally friendly staff, beautiful rooms, and delicious food. Mohlabetsi Safari Lodge (near Hoedspruit): a beautiful accommodation, where everything is well organized. The food is tasty and it is very nice that the tap water is drink…

South Africa, for me the first but certainly not the last time!

A long-cherished dream becomes a reality. Together with my wife I go on a discovery to the beautiful northeast of South Africa. We drive roughly from Johannesburg, via kruger park, the Panorama route, through Swaziland, St Lucia to Drakensbergen. A total WOW experience. Wild, nature and good food and drink!
